New hotels open in Milwaukee, Phoenix and more U.S. cities

Recent openings in the U.S. include the 30th avid hotel, an AC Hotel in Phoenix’s Arizona Center and more.


Avid hotel Milwaukee West-Waukesha IHG Hotels & Resorts has opened the 30th avid hotel, avid hotel Milwaukee West-Waukesha. Owned by Kingbird Real Estate and managed by Aimbridge Hospitality, the property has 95 guestrooms, a gym, grab-and-go breakfast options and free WiFi.


The property is near Waukesha County Airport, Waukesha County Expo Center, the Center Court Sports Complex and the University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee at Waukesha.


AC Hotel Phoenix Downtown A joint venture between LaPour Partners and NewcrestImage, the AC Hotel Phoenix Downtown has opened within the Arizona Center development. Layton Construction was the general contractor, Axis GFA Architecture & Design was the architect and Design Duncan Miller Ullman was the interior design firm on the project.


The 13-story, 199-room hotel has a lobby lounge offering tapas and crafted cocktails, an outdoor patio with fireplaces and water features overlooking the Arizona Center interior park, a penthouse fitness center and 5,000 sq. ft. of flexible indoor/outdoor meeting space, including a ballroom, salon meeting space and a conference room.


Hyatt House Rochester / Mayo Clinic Area Owned by PEG Companies and managed by In-Group Hospitality: A PEG Company, the Hyatt House Rochester/Mayo Clinic Area has opened in Rochester, MN. The hotel is part of the Destination Medical Center initiative to revitalize the downtown area.


The hotel offers 172 extended-stay suites with fully equipped kitchens. Amenities include The Commons public space, an outdoor terrace with fire pits and a barbecue, complimentary Morning Spread hot breakfast, the H Bar, the 24-hour H Market, a gym and free WiFi throughout the hotel. There is also more than 1,500 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space.


Embassy Suites by Hilton Charleston Harbor Mt. Pleasant Embassy Suites by Hilton Charleston Harbor Mt. Pleasant has opened in Historic Charleston Harbor at the foot of the Ravenel Bridge.


The seven-story, waterfront all-suite hotel offers 175 suites and features a centerpiece chandelier in the lobby. One- and two-room suites include a living area with wet bar, microwave, mini refrigerator, HD TVs and free WiFi. The property also offers 6,000 sq. ft. of indoor meeting space and more than 40,000 sq. ft. of waterfront outdoor event space, a fitness center and an outdoor pool, as well as a manager’s reception each evening.
